Water conveyance during ice period of Yi Dan River belongs to Changchun trunk of the central city group water supply in Jilin province.Changchun trunk uses the natural river course to carry water,and the length is7.3km.Because the project is located in the cold area and the temperature is very low in winter,there is ice formation,invarying degrees in river course.River ice will affect the Yi Dan River's hydraulic conditions,and in the meantimeaffect the hydraulic conditions of Changchun trunk tunnel and Feng Jialing water diversion project and in the upstream,and then affect the whole project operation safety.Therefore the research on ice regime and control measures of the ice damage during freezing period is a problem which must be addressed for the central city group water supply in Jilin province.The presence of ice in rivers is an important aspect to be considered in the development of water resources in cold regions.On the other hand,recently,many long distance water transfer project has been constructed to solve unevenly distributed water resources in China.However,when the water diversion canals flow through cold areas,the ice problems are inevitably encountered in ice period.This phenomenon may bring many troubles characterized by disturbing electric power generation and water division,increasing load of hydraulic structures,especially producing ice jam which can cause enormous losses to the nation and the people.So it is important to study the basic principle of the river ice process.Using mathematical model to simulate the river ice process is an effect way to instruct the design and management of the water transfer project during ice period.On the basis of former research experiences and results,this paper deeply analyses the main mechanizations and processes of the ice hydraulics,and further focuses on the water division capability in the ice age and ice disaster prevention and control.The main research achievements include: according to available information,technologies and research achievements,and in the light of the characteristics of Yi Dan Rivercourse,the paper establish two-dimensional numerical model of river ice in body coordinate system;the parameter of the model is to set according to ice data of the Bai-shan reach of Songhua River;It performs a simulation on water transport during the ice ageby the mathematical model that is verified;the paper puts forward a reasonable water transfer project and suggestions on prevention and control of ice damage and operation on the basis of the characteristics ofwater transferring during ice period of Yi Dan River.
