In our country to carry out the construction of ecological civilization,exploring thedevelopment model of the sponge city has become the only way to build an ecological civilization society.The essence of the sponge city is to change the traditional concept of stormwater management,emphasize the constructions of the low impact development(LID)model of respecting nature and complying with nature.However,domestic research on the related concept of sponge city at a embryonic stage,cased unreasonable planning of stormwater management network in many cities,especially of the parking lots which have large areas with impervious surface as well as lack of stormwater infrastructures.In conclusion,the parking space have existed lots of problems,include a serious waterlogging,runoff pollution as well as obvious heat island effect around space.This study is based on the related studies of the concept of Sponge City,elaborating the inexorable trend of the construction of LID stormwater management system in China;the urgent demand of solving the problems of rainwater in parking lots urgently;the adverse ecological effects which the traditional parking lots have brought;the problems and development status of water sensitive parking lots in China under the background of sponge city.Furthermore,discuss the concept and connotation of a water sensitive parking lot through the analysis of advanced stormwater management concept,technical measures and practice case about foreign countries.On this basis,taking Dalian Maritime University as an example,to analyze the design background,environmental status and feasibility of water sensitive parking lot;summarizes the design ideas of water sensitive parking lots,including the aims,principles,design elements,overall scheme and types of water problems,as well as the estimate data of the ecological benefits;induce the construction strategies of water sensitive parking lots,concretely put forward applied strategies and feasible methods from the three aspects,include the drainage and control of surface runoff,purge and handle of rainwater pollution as well as storage and utilize of rainwater resources.This research mainly adopts the cross-disciplinary and spectrum analysis method,taking Dalian Maritime University as an example to research the construction strategies of water sensitive parking space by the concept of sponge city;analyze and demonstrate the methods by design drawings,as far as possible to maximize the ecological function and landscape function of parking space.The purpose of this study is to promote the organic combination ofconcept of sponge city and parking lots planning as well as enhance the ecological benefit of parking space,which is of great practical value to explore the design methods and strategies of water sensitive parking lots in line with China’s national conditions.
