The problems of traffic congestion, environmental pollution, parking difficulties and other issues caused by the rapid growth of motor vehicle population have gradually spread to second-tier cities. Many cities plan to introduce car-sharing program to alleviate the deteriorating traffic situation. As an innovative travel mode,to explore the influencing factors of car sharing participation willingness of the second-tier cities residents is the key issues to promote it.In this study,SP questionnaire was used to obtain the personal, family and travel choice data of residents' willingness to participate the program in second-tier cities.Traditional Binary Logit model was used to analyze the survey data.Meanwhile,to overcome the irrational assumption that the decision maker who are invariant between the two choice alternatives(choice probability of 0.5)are most sensitive to changes in the independent variables,A Scobit model, which considering heterogeneity,is used to analyze the survey data.In the Scobit model, the skewness parameters are used to reflect the heterogeneity of individual attributes of different travelers. In futher parameter calibration and elasticity analysis of the model are mutually validated with the results of Logit model. The results show that the Binary Logit model and Scobit model are consistent with the calibration results and Scobit model performs better than Binary Logit model.Based on the results of the two models, the factors of age, occupation, household income, car hailing and car rental experience, vehicle cost, vehicle mileage, parking service, vehicle type and vehicle return method significantly affect people's choices.Elastic value analysis results show that vehicle costs, vehicle mileage, parking services have greater impact on the choice of residents than others. The key factors that affect the willingness of car sharing of residents in second-tier cities in this study can be used as a reference for car-sharing enterprises to promote the program and provide a reliable theoretical basis for the government to formulate relevant policies.
