Automotive fuel tank is the key component of the automotive fuel supply system,the state has strict requirements on its structure and safety.Fuel tank in the course of work,all kinds of excitation loads are caused by the road excitation,so it is necessary to fully consider whether the structural strength and stiffness meet the engineering requirements in the initial design process.Most of the previous designs rely on the experience of engineers,the product development cycle is long,the cost is high,it is difficult to meet the requirements of the market.Practice has proved that in the initial design process,the use of finite element analysis technology,can shorten the product development cycle,and save research and development costs,providing enterprise market competitiveness.This paper comes from the actual project,using CAD / CAE technology,and making a structural finite element analysis on a car fuel tank in the initial design.The 3D solid model is imported into HyperMesh,made a series of operations,such as the middle surface,the geometric cleaning,the element meshing,the material parameters and the attributes seting,and the high quality finite element mesh model is established for different types of analysis.The vibration performance and static pressure of the fuel tank were analyzed by using finite element analysis software Abaqus.Through the analysis of the results,it is found that the initial design rigidity of the fuel tank is not enough,it is easy to produce resonance phenomenon in the external excitation frequency which can cause the risk of cracking,and find out the weak link of the fuel tank.In order to solve the problem,the fuel tank structure was optimized.Then the same boundary conditions are used to analyze the vibration performance and static pressure of the improved automobile fuel tank.At the same time,Ls_dyna is used to analyze the fuel tank based on the fluid solid coupling drop strength.Then the vibration durability test,static pressure test and drop test are carried out to verify the correctness of the improved scheme.According to the analysis of this article,have a certain knowledge of automobile fuel tank,the static strength,vibration performance and drop strength.It provides some theoretical reference basis for the design of structural modification,and also gets reasonable reference plan.Through the finite element analysis and experiment,the correctness of the improved design is verified,which reduces the design cost and improves the efficiency of product research and development.
