The design of the supporting panels is the component part in the design of the curling match venue.Panel and the lower supporting steel system are the key parts of the standard track made by the World Curling Federation(WCF).The supporting structure should be simple,easy to transmit,easy to assemble and strong enough.In order to meet the requirement of the comfort level,the vertical vibration frequency should also be high.In addition,when curling match venue is maintained,the maximum settlement of the ice needs to be controlled in order to allow the ice to bear the load of the wheel of a large water ice vehicle.In this paper,the supporting structure was designed and optimized by the test and finite analysis.This paper studies the settlement and the first order frequency under the action of load in different areas.The mechanical properties of different supporting structures and the properties of the nodes are also studied.The main contests are listed as follows:Firstly,the assembled structure used to support ice of curling ground was designed.The designing content includes supporting frame,supporting panel and connections between components.The panel unit was designed as a ribbed wooden box filled with XPS.The internal structure and material properties were studied deeply.Secondly,the static load test for wooden box was carried out.Then the mechanical properties of the wooden box were obtained.The ABAQUS program was used to analyze and optimize the wooden box which has sufficient stiffness and bearing capacity.It is proved that the panel unit can provide an effective support for curling ice.Thirdly,on the basis of the proposed supporting system,the field test would be completed in the Water Cube.There were six stages in the field test,and the mechanical properties of the supporting frame,supporting panel and ice sheet were tested.The static characteristics and dynamic characteristics are tested,and the proposed support scheme could meet the requirements of the curling ground.Finally,the ABAQUS program was used to simulate the analysis of the tests.The maximum vertical displacement and first order frequency of the supported structure under the load of 300 kg was analyzed further.Meanwhile,the displacement and stress of the supporting system was given under the influence of large wheel load.
