The segregation of asphalt mixture is one of the main reasons causing local damage of asphalt pavement in early stage.Different factors and steps may lead to the segregation of asphalt mixture;there is no definite detecting method and evaluation index in current codes.In recent years,highway technicians are attaching more and more importance on researches about segregation of asphalt mixture.Based on the digital image processing technology,the study uses the algorithm of Structured Forests to extract the boundary of aggregate;the images are divided into several parts to calculate the overall margin lengths of different aggregates,and then segregation indexes are obtained.Which solved the problem of quantitative evaluation of the segregation degree of asphalt mixture.The related research results are applied to practical engineering and compared with traditional methods.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:1)The segregation of asphalt mixture has a great influence on the road performance,It is urgent to find a method to describe the degree of segregation quickly and accurately;2)Proposed an algorithm,which is based on Structured Forests,the paper extracted the boundary of aggregate.By this way,the image becomes two value image,which solved the problem of image boundary extraction and objective quantification;3)The image is divided into regions,and the length of the material boundary is calculated respectively.Based on this,the quantitative evaluation index of asphalt mixture segregation degree is constructed,and realized the quantitative evaluation method of asphalt mixture segregation.The asphalt mixture is divided into fine segregation,non-segregation,moderate segregation and severe segregation according to the segregation index;4)The image method that is verified by the experiment reaches.The results about evaluating a mixture segregation shows that the method has a good applicability.Compared with the sampling test carried out at the site of the Chaozhou-Huizhou Expressway site in Guangdong,the nuclear density tester Consistent results have almost the same results.The results of this study provides an effective means for rapid detection and evaluation of mixture segregation,which is simple,rapid,timely guide construction.There will be a very positive significance in segregation detection and cost control.
