Electro Mechanical Brake(EMB)belongs to a kind of Brake By Wire technology.As a cutting-edge technology in the automotive industry,it has always been a breakthrough in the field trying to innovate.Especially for heavy-duty vehicles,the traditional air brake system due to the existence of some unavoidable defects,coupled with the continuous improvement of the braking system with the trend,it has been unable to meet the ever-increasing performance requirements.Therefore,the development of EMB will be another major innovation in the automotive brake system,it is another milestone of the development in the automotive industry.In this paper,current status of domestic and foreign research on EMB is analyzed.According to the characteristics of the existing brakes,a new structure design and control idea of the brake is proposed for the heavy-duty vehicle,which provides an effective solution for the EMB technology.The main research contents and achievements of this paper are as follows:The structural Design of EMB: First of all,the principle program is designed in accordance with the requirements of the brake design and the body movement diagram is drawn.Secondly,the theoretical calculation is completed,the brake assembly is decomposed into three parts: the power output unit,the execution unit,the brake caliper and accessories,three units were designed in detail.The function and assembly relationship of each part are described.At the same time,the program was evaluated according to the design requirements.And then,the brake performance calculation was carried out,the results were in accordance with the design expectations.Application of computer aided design technology: The brake assembly were analyzed by ADAMS software from kinematics and dynamics.The motion characteristics and dynamic performance of the mechanism were studied,and the correctness of the theoretical calculation is verified.In addition,for the key components,the Hyper Mesh finite element analysis software is used to check the strength.The control ideas: Aiming at the EMB in this paper,the control ideas is established,which lays the foundation for the vehicle control system.
