Electrical connectors are widely used in the fields of aviation,spaceflight,communication,national defense and so on.They play the function of an electrical connection and the signal transmission between systems.The contacts are the core elements of electrical connectors,which must keep stable and reliable contact.The contacts are elastic elements.The contacts are easy to produce vibration fatigue,stress relaxation and fretting wear phenomena under the action of alternating vibration stress,which can reduce the contact reliability of electrical connectors.Therefore,in this paper,the vibration fatigue mechanism of electrical connector is studied.This paper studies the structure characteristics of the contacts and establishes the mathematical model of electric connector contacts based on the electrical contact theory;this paper proposes vibration fatigue test scheme of electrical connectors and the test scheme included the test condition,the sample preparations,the test contents and so on.The test excitation condition includes the determination of the vibration frequency and vibration amplitude;this paper completed the software and hardware design of electric connector vibration fatigue test device;18 groups of vibration fatigue tests were carried out;the test data was processed and analyzed.Besides,the comparative analysis on the pore size,the insertion force and the metallographic structure before and after the test are also conducive to study the vibration fatigue mechanism of electric connectors.
