| Plasma sliding discharge as a new type of electrical discharge has been gradually applied in plasma flow control in recent years.Though the detailed research on the characteristics of plasma sliding discharge,The mechanism of sliding discharge will be understood better and the results are very useful for the future application.First,this paper briefly introduce and analyse of the plasma discharge theory and three mechanism of the plasma flow control.And then we studied the experimental conditions of forming a stable sliding discharge state.The results showed that the sliding discharge phenomenon is presented,through respectively using a high voltage microsecond AC power and a negative high voltage microsecond AC power at the two electrodes of three-electrode layout actuator.phenomenon is formed when the AC power supply output voltage is 18 kV(peak-to-peak value),the negative AC power supply output voltage is-18 kV,and both power supply frequencies are 7.7 kHz.Secondly the discharge characteristics,temperature characteristic and the characteristics of the flow field were experimental investigated.When the sliding discharge is forming,the current value increases so as to make the power consumption increased.The 2-D dimensional temperature distribution of sliding discharge were obtained by infrared thermal imaging technology.Temperature distribution is closely related to voltage and duty cycle,while discharge frequency has no effect.Flow field characteristics of the sliding discharge actuator were obtained by particle image velocimetry(PIV).The induced airflow speed increased with the output voltage,and the mainstream orientation changed with the output voltage.Also the paper showed the influence of duty cycle and frequency of discharge of flow field.The control effects of the sliding discharge actuator on the airfoil were studied using PIV and smoke wire technology.When the actuator was on,the separation point moved downstream and the separation area significantly decreased.It shows that the lift increases when the actuator was on by measuring the aerodynamic force.The control effect needs further research under high speed. |
