With the continuous detection of antibiotics in water environment, the problem of antibiotic contamination in drinking water is becoming more and more serious. The researches show that the conventional treatment process has little effect on antibiotics,so it is very important to find a suitable technology for antibiotic pollution control. As an alternative of conventional treatment, low pressure membrane technology has been paid more and more attention. It is an important significance to study the effects of low-pressure membrane on antibiotics. This study, basing on optimal pretreatment and test method of antibiotic, investigated antibiotics distribution in Qiantang River water. The effects of particles and ultrafiltration membrane on antibiotics were conducted. Moreover, the effects of particles on ultrafiltration membrane treating antibiotics were investigated. The results show that it is feasible to detect antibiotics in water by HPLC.There were high recovery rates when the water samples were concentrated by solid phase extraction with HLB adsorbent. The surveys of antibiotic distribution during different months show that antibiotics focus on doxycycline and doxycycline concentration of 12-46ng/L during Qiantang River.Doxycycline antibiotic of the downstream is more than that of upstream and the concentration of the dry season is more than that of the wet season. There was relatively high removal of antibiotics by particles and adsorption mainly concentrated during 0.5h.Ultrafiltration membrane had little effect on the removal of antibiotics and the effect of antibiotics on membrane fouling was not significant. The concentration of antibiotics with particles in the membrane effluent was much lower than that with non-particles,and the removal of antibiotic by suspended particles was better.Compared to single membrane filtrating antibiotic, membrane flux of membrane with particles slightly decreased.
