With the rapid development of infrastructure construction in southwest China, high fill slope is increasing with the construction of airports, highways, railways and other projects. In addition, the geological conditions in the southwest are extremely complex. Therefore,it is very important to study the deformation and stability of high fill slope. It is not only related to the successful completion of the project construction, but also directly affect normal working of the construction site in the future.Red clay is widely distributed in Southwest China. As a kind of special foundation soil, red clay has an important influence on the deformation and stability of the overlying fill slope. Therefore,it is very important to study the red clay as the foundation of slope. The paper takes the high fill slope of tank area in Anning City,Yunnan Province as the object of study. It integrates a variety of methods to study the deformation and stability of the high fill slope of red clay foundation. It has a certain guiding significance on the same type of projects. The main contents of the thesis are as follows:(1)According to the collected survey, design and construction materials,it grasps and summarizes the topography, geological structure, stratigraphic structure, hydrogeology and so on of the study area.It also analyzes the construction technical parameters and deformation characteristics.(2)Based on the collected data,,it analyzes the physical and mechanical properties of rock and soil in the study area.Through the analysis of the data from three stages of the laboratory, combining with in site test,It also analyzes the changes of the red clay as the soft soil under the fill slope. At the same time, the distribution characteristics of fill and red clay are obtained by the surfer software based on the collected drilling date.(3)It uses the SIGMA module of GEO-SLOPE software and finite difference software called FLAC3 D respectively from two-dimensional and three-dimensional to simulate the construction process of the fill slope. It analyzes the displacement and tensile stress distribution of the fill slope based on numerical simulation results. In addition,it also analyzes the causes of cracks in the tank area and its correlation with red clay.(4)According to the surface monitoring date of slope after the construction, combined with similar engineering deformation,it analyzes and predicts the deformation trend of slope. It also verifies the effectiveness of numerical simulation through comparing the above two methods with the results of numerical simulation.(5)It uses SLIDE software to calculate the stability of the four typical sections based on the simplified Bishop method for general conditions and seismic conditions. At the same time,in order to analyze the causes of fracture formation and the influence of the stability of the whole slope on the east side of the tank area,it is assumed that the trailing edge of the sliding surface lies in the cracked area and use the SLIDE software to calculate the stability again. Then the FLAC3 D software is used to calculate the safety factor of slope based on the strength reduction method. The corresponding safety factor is compared with the calculation results of SLIDE software. Finally,it uses the calculation formula from the ?Code for seismic engineering of highway engineering?to verify the stability of the most dangerous profile under the seismic condition calculated by SLIDE software.(6)Based on the analysis and calculation results of the high fill slope combined with a variety of methods,it assesses the stability of the fill slope comprehensively. At the same time, based on the previous work, this paper studies the influence of red clay foundation on the deformation and stability of the whole slope, and the relationship with the slope cracks.
