Nowadays,many engineering projects,such as design of transportation,municipal construction and water conservancy work,need to be conducted in rocky layer.The mechanical properties of rock mass determine the construction methods and protective measures in engineering project,and the fractures is one of the important factors which affect the mechanical properties of rock mass.The identification of rock fractures is helpful to study the mechanical properties and permeability of fractured rock mass and predict the possible accidents in Engineering.In view of the lack of fracture identification and parametric statistical system,this paper developed a system of rock fractures identification and statistical parameters,which lays the foundation for further study of rock fractures identification and statistical parameters,based on the fracture images collected by the digital photogrammetric systemthis.The purpose of this paper is to extract the fracture parameters in the rock mass image.The main results are as follows:(1)The geometrical features and mechanical characteristics of fractures were studied by classification of rock fractures,and the methods of digital image acquisition of rock fractures ware expounded,then the specific image processing and feature recognition methods were selected based on the characteristics of rock fracture images.(2)The definite methods of digital image preprocessing,image recognition,fractures feature extraction and parameter characterization were studied.The appropriate processing methods and theoretical algorithms are also given.(3)According to the proposed theory algorithm,the system is divided into five functional modules: image information input and output,image preprocessing,fracture recognition,feature recognition and parameter characterization.And the development of rock fractures identification and characterization system was realized.(4)Taking uniaxial compression experiment as an example,single and multiple experiment pictures were analyzed by the system to analyze the growth of fractures in the deformation of rock specimens,and to verify the practicability of the system.The application example shows that the system can accurately calculate rock fractures parameters,the data can be used to analyze the failure of rock mass and is helpful to study the theory and engineering problems of rock fracture caused by fractures.
