Modern aircraft uses a large number of connecting between components,such as bolts,rivets.The use of such connecting is inevitable for drilling,automation,digitalization has become the trend of the drilling technology after many years of the development.In this paper,we use the aircraft MBD 3D data model,combined with CAA development technology,extract the required process information from the data model and automatically import the drilling equipment for drilling,which greatly solves the problems of storing the drilling process in the paperless manufacturing,obtaining and organizing the connection information,and corresponding information of holes,and greatly improves the efficiency and reduces the labor of manpower.The design of automatic drilling in aircraft assembly includes reference hole design,clamping hole design and automatic hole design.In order to achieve the process design of different types of holes,a point normal vector matching module,digitized expression module of symmetrical components,information extraction module of standard parts,sequential extraction module of sandwich thickness and sandwich material,ear plate nut and non-ear plate nut screening module,the hardening area judgement module,etc.Through these modules,the drilling design for the MBD data model is completed automatically.At the same time,a new algorithm for picking up the clamping hole which can meet the basic requirements of automatic drilling is proposed.A concrete implementation method is given and a prototype module for clamping hole picking up algorithm is developed and verified.The method is of great significance for improving the efficiency of picking up the clamping hole and ensuring the accuracy and stability of the automatic drilling.According to the process of automatic drilling,each process data in the MBD data model is processed by the automatic drilling process design software and enter into the automatic drilling equipment to achieve the selection of the drilling process parameters and the drilling.According to different situations,it illustrates the function of automatic drilling process designing system in actual automatic drilling activities.The selection of the key process parameters such as tool selection,spindle speed,feed rate and other drilling show the function and significance of automatic hole making process design.In this paper,the CATIA and CAA technologies are briefly introduced,and describes the logic when extracting process information,making it easier to be understood and accepted.Research on the technology of automatic drilling and drilling based on MBD is of great significance for improving the digital level of aircraft manufacturing industry and provides a good path and solution for intelligent manufacturing.
