With the rapid development of China's economy,a variety of infrastructure construction is in the ascendant.With the rapid development and continuous improvement of the road network,a large number of buildings are built on the soft soil foundation.As a common foundation soil,soft soil has low bearing capacity,large settlement deformation,large differential settlement and long settlement time under the action of load,which poses a great threat to the safe use of buildings and structures.However,through the observation of soft soil foundation,some engineering projects deal with the effect of soft soil foundation is not ideal,sometimes also contradict with the existing theory.Therefore,it is very necessary and significant to study the settlement theory of soft soil foundation.At present,most of the typical research theories are carried out on saturated soil,but rarely on unsaturated soil.The main purpose of this paper is to make a kind of soil pore pressure instrument of – Utype tube pore pressure rope detection device,and use it to observe the change of pore pressure in soil.It provides a useful instrument for quantitative calculation of negative pressure in soil,and provides a new technical support for the study of settlement mechanism of soft soil foundation.Firstly,comparative analysis of domestic and foreign saturated soil and unsaturated soil settlement mechanism,combined with road engineering examples of settlement of soft foundation settlement,introduces our research group put forward the "negative pressure-dynamic load coupling mechanics model '' of the point of view.In view of the above views,this paper mainly through the combination of the existing defects of consolidation theory and common test instrument,the successful completion of the preliminary data and actual testing of a new U-type tube pore pressure rope detection device,and on the basis of the adjustment.The device can be used under natural conditions to observe the pore pressure continuously in unsaturated soils,and observed the existence of negative pressure,so as to verify the research on "negative pressure-dynamic load coupling mechanics model" of the research group.At the same time,according to the data,we have analyzed several factors that influence the pore pressure of soil: hydraulic gradient,depth and soil properties.In this paper,the observation and Research on pore pressure of soil can promote the settlement mechanism.It provides a theoretical basis for the mitigation and maintenance of soft ground highway and railway construction,and provides a theoretical basis for the settlement and maintenance of urban ground subsidence in soft soil area,and has a very important significance for the study of soft soil foundation settlement.
