At present,onshore weather routing has found wide applications in the shipping field.However,there are still many ships that have difficulties in using weather routing service due to such factors as cost,confidentiality,etc.The weather route plays a very important role in the navigation safety and economic benefits of the ship.The shipping market is in the downturn,and there are many limitations and deficiencies in the onshore weather routing,thus,the onboard weather routing is particularly necessary.Combined with the implementation and development of e-navigation,a design method of onboard weather routingin the e-navigationenvironment is proposed in this thesis.The vessel can optimize the route in real time according to the maritime hydrological andweather forecasts during the navigation,and constraints are the wind and waves that ship and cargo can withstand.The ship not only avoidthe roughseaarea,but also reduce the unnecessary detours,eventually obtain a safe and efficient path.The thesis first summarizes the hydrological and meteorological elements that affect the safety of ship navigation,especially the crucial elements that wind and wave in detail,and then describes the hydrological and weather forecast in the e-navigation environment.After analyzing the optimization objective and the meteorological data in the form of grid,the ant colony algorithm is used to solve the problem about weather route according to the characteristics of the design of onboard weather routing.In addition,proposing a more appropriate heuristic function and improving the searching speed of the algorithmThen taking TSP as an example and describing the basic principle and mathematical model of ant colony algorithm.The MATLAB simulation of atypical TSP is carriedout to analyze the parameters amongant colony algorithm,and it provides support for the parameter values of the follow-up simulation experiment.After that,the optimization model of ship autonomous weather routeis established,including rough sea area,grid properties,path search strategy,constraint criteriaandroute cost function,etc.Detailed steps of the algorithm applied to weather route are also given.Besides,the thesis proposesa route smoothing strategy so that the final route can be in line with the actual situation of navigation and having practical significance.Based on the optimization model and detailed steps of algorithm applied to weather route that previously mentioned,the thesis conductsMATLAB simulation experiments.The result obtained demonstrates that the method proposed in this paper is able to make the ship avoid the rough sea areato reach the destination where the path is shortest,verifiesthe method’s feasibility and rationality.
