As an important connection type of aircraft assembly,riveting affects aircraft's life greatly,the aviation industry developed countries generally use automatic drilling and riveting technology instead of manual riveting to improve the quality and efficiency of aircraft riveting assembly.Very few countries in the west have advanced automatic drilling and riveting technology,and the ability to manufacture and export machines.Because of technical blockade,most of the imported machines have been eliminated by foreign countries.What's more,with the limition of rivet feeding systems,brackets,toolings and other factors,the imported automatic drilling and riveting machines can't creat productivity.There is still a huge gap between china and foreign aviation industry developed countries in the research and use of automatic drilling and riveting technology.After accumulating a lot of automatic hole making and riveting experience,my research group has developed an automatic drilling and riveting machine for large aircraft panel with a rivet feeding system,which is the main content of this paper.Firstly,the development status of internal and external automatic drilling and riveting technology,and the development status of rivet feeding system are introduced.According to the analysis of the structure and function of automatic machine,and the analysis of the types of feeding rivets,the design needs and the functional needs are obtained,so we can get the design direction of the rivet feeding system.Then,rivet feeding system uses pneumatic conveying technology,the types and characteristics of pneumatic conveying are introduced briefly,and the rivet's motion in straight tube and bending tube is studied in detail.Feeding tube's selection and feeding pressure's calculation are studied because rivet feeding is the most prone to failure,tube's optimized selection mathematical model and feeding pressure calculation method are obtained,then the examples of tube selection and test verification,single rivet feeding pressure calculation and test verification are carried out respectively.Finally,overall design and detailed work process of the rivet feeding system are gived out,modules design and working principles of storage module,feeding module and receiving module are introduced.In particular,the rivet separating valve in storage module and rivet clips in receiving module are studied in detail.
