With global warming,the Arctic ice area gradually decreases,the Arctic waterway has been put into use,suitable for the development and design of various types of polar navigation has gained more and more attention.Usually commercial polar sailing ships have a certain self ice breaking ability to meet the ice breaking requirements in the navigation season.In addition,most of these ships are in open water,so their performance in open water should be taken into account.Effects of the polar ship bow shape to have larger ice breaking capability and open water performance,therefore,considering various factors in the development process of the polar ship needs,in-depth study on the configuration method of ship bow.In this paper,the method of computational fluid dynamics of ship ice interaction and dynamic analysis method of ship resistance prediction based on a ship’s bow configuration method based on polar sea ice breaking capability.The main work of this paper has the following points:(1)Using orthogonal design method,by changing the angle of bow rake,camber angle and waterline angle,9 bow configuration scheme of a polar ship,studied the evaluation of different ship parameters impact on the calculation results of the variance analysis method.(2)Based on finite element dynamics analysis,a numerical method for ship ice contact-collision is presented;the Arbitrary Lagrange Euler(ALE)method to describe the fluid domain,Lagrange method to describe the ice,coupling effect of sea ice and ice is achieved,eventually formed a coupled ice ocean ship analysis method.(3)The simulation of ice breaking process was carried out for different bow configurations,the data of ice damage,ship ice collision force and various energy changes during collision are analyzed.The sensitivity of different ship parameters to ice breaking effectiveness is discussed by variance analysis.(4)The open-water performance of hull under different bowing schemes is analyzed by Fluent software.The ice-breaking ability and open-water performance of polar sailing ship are comprehensively considered.Through comparison and analysis,the optimized configuration of target ship is obtained.
