With the growing concern for EV(Electric Vehicle)by people and the significant advantages of 4-WID(4-Wheel-Independent-Drive)in control and energy saving,the research on 4WID EV will get attention of enterprises,universities and related research institutions.The introduction of wheel motor bring new ideas for the electric car chassis design.This paper annlyzed and researched the chassis of 4-WID EV.The main content researched in this paper is followed as below:(1)Firstly,based on the characteristics of micro-car and market positioning,the technical parameters and performance indicators of vehicle is designed.Secodly,according to the performance goals,the chassis component selection is analyzed.At last,the 3D models of the front suspension,rear suspension,steering system,frame and whole vehicle are established.(2)Firstly,according to the overall layout of the vehicle needs,the frame is preliminary designed by SolidWorks.Secondly,the finite element model of the frame is established and analyzed within ANSYS.At last,according to the problems of static analysis,the structural optimization design of the frame is carried out,including structural reinforcement and parametric analysis.(3)Firstly,according to the electric vehicle parameters and McPherson structure,the hard points' coordinates and spring stiffness are achieved.Then,a 3D model of the front Macpherson suspension system is built and analyzed within the multi-body dynamics simulation software ADAMS/CAR.At last,the optimization design of wheel alignment parameters is carried out by ADAMS/Insight.(4)Firstly,the analytical mathematical model for steering linkage is inducted.Then the deterministic optimization is processed based on the mathematical model by MATLAB.(5)Firstly,The multi-rigid-body dynamics simulation model of the vehicle is established by using Vitual Prototype software ADAMS/CAR.Secondly,the full vehicle handling stability maneuvers are simulated based on the established model under national standards,including steering wheel angle step input test procedure,return ability test procedure,steady static circular test procedure.At last,the simulation results are evaluated and scored.(6)Firstly,According to the vehicle performance design requirements,match the powertrain program,and then introduced the chassis parts of the trial production.Finally,the connection scheme of the chassis parts is designed,which can realize the effective adjustment of the parts installation position in the initial assembly process and improve the maintainability of the vehicle.
