Beam structure is widely used in engineering,such as flexible wings and telescopic solar panels.The effective control of the beam structure is of great significance to improve the instability of the structure caused by the vibration and the work precision.The research on vibration reduction of beam structures is mainly divided into two research methods: active control and passive control.In this paper,a nonlinear energy sink is used as a passive controller to reduce the vibration of beams.In this paper,the dynamic models of axial telescopic beam or beam-mass system coupled to nonlinear energy sink are established,respectively.Besides,the effects of nonlinear energy sink on vibration suppression of these two kinds of beam are studied respectively.Firstly,Hamilton method,hypothetical modal method and four orders Runge-Kutta method are used to simulated the time domain vibration of the beam.Secondly,the vibration control and energy harvesting of beam added NES-piezoelectric device are analyzed.The main purpose is to research energy dissipated by NES damping and energy harvested by piezoelectric material.The results show that NES has a positive effect on the vibration suppression of the axial telescopic beam.Compared with the traditional passive tuned mass damper,NES can obtain better effect of vibration control.At the same time,the Influence of the frequency of beam attached NES is not obvious.In addition,vibration control and energy harvesting of beam-mass system attached NES-piezoelectric is researched.Result shows that the major of vibration energy of the beam is dissipated by NES damping.To have a better effect of energy harvesting and vibration dissipation,NES-piezoelectric device should be loaded in nearly the center of the beam.The effective of energy harvesting and energy dissipation are close contact with NES damping.
