Design Of Integrated CAN Bus Interface Circuit For Intelligent Battery Management System

Governments and vehicle manufacturers promotes the development of electric vehicles together consideration of energy and environment.Intelligent battery management system plays a decisive role in protecting the reliability and security of the battery system.The paper studies the CAN bus intelligent communication interface circuit according to the common communication method in vehicle electronic systems.Based on smart battery management system,the research of integrated CAN bus interface circuit has been carried out by using mixed-signal circuit design technology according to CAN bus international standard protocol ISO11898.First of all,the interface circuit is divided into digital circuit and analog circuit module according to the principle of CAN bus interface and the bus protocol.The digital circuit is described by Verilog language and circuit synthesized by Design Compiler tool,the digital circuit layout is generated by Encounter software.Useing Specter and Hspice for analog circuit design and simulation.Then verify the digital circuit module by FPGA.The circuit design is optimized according to the AMS mixed-signal simulation results,then design overall circuit layout according to the standard mixed-signal circuit layout and Tape Out by using Global Foundry Chrt035 dg eventually.Finally,complete the circuit test and set up multi-node communication according to sensor data acquisition usually used in CAN bus communication system.Test results show that the integrated CAN bus interface circuit design conforms to the standard protocol.Communication with commercial CAN chip correctly with the maximum speed of 1Mbps.Besides,it can be applied to smart battery management CAN bus communication system conveniently.
