Study On Application Of Composite Bamboo In Modern Architecture From The Perspective Of Construction

Bamboo has been a common construction material since ancient times.Although this material has not been widely recognized and accepted under modern conditions,its unique expressive potential and excellent green attribute exist objectively.The reform of technological means at the present stage makes the traditional bamboo form evolve into a wide variety of composite materials.Even so,the bamboo is not so popular like wood.Why such a phenomenon will cause?The author starts the related research with this question.In the process of data collection,the author realizes that the material property,performance,the composition logic and location in building is a construction problem after all,so as to determine the basic context of this paper.The research process introduces construction thinking.With the expression of materials in construction aspect as the emphasis and some necessary technical results as the supplement,this paper finally relies on four basic questions:1.As a kind of organic material that has not been fully recognized,what are the irreplaceable advantages of bamboo?2.What is the definition of the research scope of modern bamboo?3.What is the relationship between each element of construction and building and material expression?4.How to discuss the expression of bamboo from the angle of construction?Based on this,this paper is divided into four chapters to explore these issues.The first chapter introduces the origin of the subject,research object,research questions and methods,domestic and foreign research status,research purpose and significance.The second chapter summarizes the cultural inheritance,green environmental protection,solid foundation,security and advantages of bamboo and conduct horizontal and vertical contrast in these respects.In horizontal direction,it compares the bamboo with other modern materials and the wood as organic materials;in longitudinal direction,it compares the contemporary and past bamboo use method.The third chapter re-understands materials within the definition of construction from the perspective of construction.It distinguishes the definition of traditional bamboo material and new bamboo,focuses on the materials themselves,conducts systematic classification and analysis of material types and characteristics mentioned by this paper.The fourth chapter conducts preliminary discussion on the strategies involved by some contemporary applications and verify them through different types of cases.Through the analysis of its design strategy,it aims to provide some guidelines for the material language part in contemporary architectural design.The author hopes to make certain conclusion and summarization of the expression advantages of the traditional material bamboo and also wishes that this paper can broach the subject and attract more architects to pay attention to the pattern space of the construction and other problems and re-awake the importance of the logical relationship between materials and building and the construction process.
