The heavy-cargo transportation catamaran has a good application prospect because of its wide deck,wide stability and good handling characteristics.In operation,it can effectively reduce the unit transport costs,reduce the transit transport links,and create a higher economic efficiency.As the hull structure in the wind and waves in the load is extremely complex,accurate hull structural strength analysis is the key issue of the hull design and inspection process.Liang theory describes the hull as a beam of variable cross-section,making a lot of assumptions and similarity.With the development of the ship industry,the hull structure is more complex,The disadvantages of Liang theory become increasingly prominent.In the late 1980s,the rapid development of computer science made it possible to analyze the local structure of the hull or the analysis of the finite element method of the whole ship.The safety and reliability analysis of the hull structure had a revolutionary breakthrough,leading to the increasing broad applications of finite element calculation of structural strength of ship,which became increasingly important technical means.This paper analyzes the structural characteristics and overall performance of the ship from the perspective of the development trend of catamaran.According to China Classification Society "steel inland river construction specifications 2016" and"domestic navigation shipbuilding specification 2016”requirements,the structural design of the catamaran is finished.According to the structural design drawings,the three-dimensional finite element model of the whole ship is established,and the loading method and boundary condition are discussed.The structural strength level is calculated directly under different working conditions.In this paper,according to the strength standard of the China Classification Society's Direct Analysis on the Structural Strength of Bulk Carriers 2015,the yield strength of the hull is evaluated,and the bulking strength of the main local structure of the ship,such as the bottom plate,the main deck and the connecting deck is checked,The strength of the bottom structure of the connecting bridge under the slamming effect is calculated and evaluated according to the relevant regulations of the "Steel Inland River Construction Code 2016" issued by China Classification Society.
