Complex and profound changes are taking place in the world. The world economy is recovering slowly, and global development is uneven.Under the promotion and guidance of the strategic planning "The Belt and Road",the National offshore oil exploration and deep ocean engineering industry has made substantial progress in the past years,in the same time it encouraged continue upgrading of relevant technical manufacture capability. In the recent years,Chinese government shows strongly determination to explore the resources in deep sea;moreover, the stringent requirement and extensive demand of overseas heavy transportation are rising by the development of Maritime Silk Road.It means that the relevant industry chain of offshore engineering must be upgrading and developing continuously. This article is just focus on the feasibility analysis method with regard to the special heavy transport vessel's choose and investment, and would provide a reference of rational analysis method for the relevant ship-owners or ship management companies, from which could prevent blindness investment decisions. This article is starting with a review of semi-submersible vessels'conception and its working theory, development route, main field of utilization and the technical trend of modern semi-submersible vessels.Meanwhile, investigation of 50000 DWT vessel's operation characteristics and its classic technical principal is the key point.Secondly,I investigated the market supply, fleet distribution and market demand of semi-submersible vessels, and then according to the clients' requirement, various investment schemes were worked out for feasibility analysis; Finally, after comparing the results of economic analysis of various schemes,a reference of practicably and optimal strategy was provided to our client for application in the investment development.A summarization of research and further expectation were given in the last chapter.
