In the planning and design of traditional commemorative architecture, the design elements and techniques such as symbol, axis space, terrain, sight design, color materials, sculpture, etc.were fully utilized in expressing space and conveying emotion. In the overall space narrative, the use of various design techniques and elements of the traditional commemorative architecture can fully express the internal requirements of the architecture and the architect’s design concept, and at the same time give visitors a rich experience. However, the traditional design methods did not play well in the transmission of the concept of interior space emotions. On the one hand,it is because of the inherent limitations of the interior space of the building itself(scale, light factors,etc.).On the other hand, traditional design practices are too focused on emphasizing visual stimuli to visitors, thus ignoring to a certain extent other senses that are equally important. The role, such as human touch, hearing, smell and so on.With the popularity of computers and electronic components, the interaction between people and buildings becomes possible through the connection of various sensors and computers. In the process of architectural design, various perception systems can be considered and added to enhance people’s perception of architecture and use some scientific and technological means to achieve the interaction between people and architecture, which can enhance the feelings and emotional shaping of space. This design project uses the reconstruction of the Meditation Hall in Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders as an example to explore the application of interactive building technology in commemorative architecture. This article is mainly divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which describes the purpose, content, significance and methods of the research. The second chapter is the project overview, which mainly includes the analysis of the location of the project, analysis of the status quo of the memorial hall and analysis of the status of the meditation hall. The third chapter analyzes and summarizes the excellent cases of traditional commemorative architecture and interactive architecture, providing a foundation for the subsequent design. The fourth chapter is the research on updating strategy and interactive technology, and responds to the questions summarized in the second and third chapters, and then designs the final reconstruction plan;Chapter 5 presents the design results, including the manual simulation model and design drawings integration.
