In the construction of near-shore ports,high-pile wharfs have become a widely used form of wharf structure in Zhoushan because of its advantages of lighter structure, less wave effect, and application of soft soil foundation. The stability of the bank slope relates to the normal use of the dock and the safety of life and property of the broad masses of people,so it is very important to carry out the stability analysis of the high-pile wharf bank slope. At present, there are more slope stability studies and the stability of dock bank slopes has been studied relatively less. This paper uses the finite element strength reduction method to analyze the stability of the bank slope, and finite element strength reduction method was applied to establish a corresponding dock bank slope model. Then the stability analysis of the bank slope is performed based on the calculation results. The following is the main research content:(1)Explained the research status of bank slope stability according to the literature, then introduced two methods to calculate the stability safety factor of bank slope.(2)Combining the basic theory of finite element, starting from the constitutive relation of finite element,a series of explanations and derivation of commonly used soil yield criteria are emphatically focused on.(3)The use of finite element strength reduction method in ABAQUS is explained, and a selection of three commonly used slope instability criteria is made.(4)An example is used to analyze the influence of three factors on the stability of the bank slope and its safety factor, and verified the applicability of the finite element strength reduction method.(5)Divide the load into four groups combining with a high-piled wharf project in Zhoushan, and concluded that by analyzing the impact of the unloading load on the stability of the bank slope during the actual use of the wharf.
