The Electric Power Steering System is one of the high and new technologies for the development of automotive power steering system.The EPS system not only ensures the driver to manipulate the handiness when the car is turning at low speed,but also ensures the stability of the vehicle when the car is running at a high speed.The EPS system also has the advantages of energy saving and environmental protection,compact structure,convenient installation and maintenance,good road sense and so on.With the development of automotive intelligent technology and new energy technology,the application of EPS system is more and more widely in the field of automobile.The goal of this dissertation is to complete the basic test and the test research on power characteristic for EPS system based on the EPS system test platform built by a foreign brand,so as to provide a certain meaningful basic data for development of EPS system,especially for the study on power-controlling strategy.Main contents studied include the following aspects:(1)Through the ways of searching the references,the main kinds of structure of EPS system are analyzed,and the double pinion type EPS system which is suitable for the development of domestic EPS system is selected as the research object of this dissertation test by the combination of the existing development status of domestic EPS system technology.(2)Through analysis of the research status of the EPS system test bed the loading mode of the steering wheel and the lateral force of the tire is determined.The 3D model of the test rig is built by using the Solid Works software,and the hardware of the test rig is well installed.(3)Through searching the references of developing technology for EPS system platform,and combination of the technology situations in laboratory,the data collections and the design of driving controlling system is completed by using the card of data collections and motion controlling card regulating of the test and contouring systems of the test platform is completed then.(4)The double pinion type EPS system on a foreign brand car is used as the research object,and the establishment of the EPS test controlling system is completed by combining the references of EPS system.(5)Completing the basic test of the EPS system,so as to obtain the basic parameters of EPS system.Through analyzing and comparing the internal data of EPS system read by 5053 diagnostic device and the data obtained by the test platform,the test accuracy of the test platform for the EPS system is verified.(6)The relevant test research of the power characteristics of the EPS system with the brand is carried out for researching,obtaining: changeable curve of steering wheel torque under different automobile speed,groups of assisting curve of Electric Power Steering,the curve and equation with balance relations of races for two kinds of moment of Driver's control torque-Power motor torque on steering gear rack.Through the development of test platform and testing technology,as well as the basic research on double pinion type EPS system,the basic knowledge of researching on double pinion type EPS system is accumulated.
