Automobile electric power steering system--EPS is very important part of the automobile, whose performance indicators directly related to portability, stability and security when the vehicle is steered. The basic principles of EPS are that input analog signal which is collected by the speed sensor and torque sensor transform to digital signal, and the sampled signals are analysised and processed by control unit into signal instructions which determine motor steering and current of the booster motor. Reduction gear of EPS enlarges the output signal of the motor and provide the power for EPS. Compared with traditional hydraulic steering system, the EPS has many advantages which are to provide the best help when steering and to save fuel. Therefore, it has important practical significance to develop and research automobile electric power steering system testing platform to conduct a comprehensive test of the performance of the various components of the EPS system.Based on the tests at home and abroad EPS units of analysis and research, combined with computer monitoring and control technology development of the automobile electric power steering system test platform, undertaken by "Electric power steering device technical conditions and test methods of the (draft)"in line with the automobile electric power steering system performance specifications, the platform is successfully designed as the core computer system status control, data acquisition, data processing and analysis dedicated system.According to the design requirements of the platform, the platform is made up of the hardware and software. The design of the hardware consist of the design of bench section, electric control and computer. I make a lot of works to explain principals of every part, choose electrical components and make each component parameters. At the same time, I establish the developing platform of the soft system, which include the data acquisition, data analysis and processing, signals developing and the control signal output. and use the LabVIEW to program. when the platform is competed, I make use of the platform to conduct a comprehensive performance testing of the EPS system, and performance curve is concluded. From the conclusion, it can be seen that the design of hardware and software of the platform meet the design specifications, accuracy and real-time of the system could meet the design standards. The conclusions from this design will provide some reference to the research of electric power steering system.
