With the development of our cities,the people's income increase and the use of private cars increase too,brings city passenger and goods transportation increased greatly.Residential area's access as an important part of the urban road plays an important role and impact to the urban road network whether or not run its maximum efficiency.The generate and attract traffic in urban residential area are the city's important traffic source and the residential access driveway is a connection bridge between residential areas and the urban road network.So the access is important for the city's traffic run efficiency,safety and smooth.Therefore,the urban residential area's access layout easonable and running smoothly is benefit to internal residential transport system and external city traffic system,help and improve the urban traffic run safety and efficiency.The paper selected 15 residential areas in Beijing as the research object,making an actual survey of the residential area's roads,access density,access spacing and other traffic informations.Then put a representation to the Beijing residential area's road network,road access density,access spacing and other investigation results.Then aiming at the series problems of the urban residential area's access of Beijing.Reference to the access management strategy and the foreign and domestic research on road access theory and project management experience.Using traffic conflict theory,theory of traffic flow and traffic engineering theory to make a research to urban residential area's access in Beijing.Meanwhile,established access spacing model and calibration the model according to the surveyed information and calculated the access spacing of each grade road.Finally,aiming at the access problems of Beijing residential area roads to puts forward relevant improved design scheme and give some traffic organization design.
