Study On The Access Spacing And Combination Of The Urban Major Arterials

Foreign scholar have fully realized the importance of access management to the traffic safety and operations and payed great attention to the research of accesss spacing,and all regions have issued access management regulations and decrees.While in China,the research on the access spacing is relatively poor.Only focus on the access management of freeways and expressways;and has no clear driveway spacing regulation on the urban major arterials.As a result,access are opened at will,severely disturbing the operation of the main lines traffic flow,and the status of opens needs to be solved immediately.The purpose of this paper is to expound the importance of access management,and to lay the foundation for the establishment and practice of future access norms through the study of the access spacing.First of all,this article summarizes the existing research results at home and abroad on the study of the access spacing,and understands the domestic and international research trends of access,and finds that the study of access spacing at home and abroad focuses on intersections,driveways,and median openings.There is no mention of side-slit openings,which is an innovation for this study.Secondly,the characteristics of the factors affecting the access spacing were analyzed and the access spacing were classified.Based on the above research,the minimum access spacing were quantified.Then,based on the study of the access spacing,we studied the mode of combination of side slit opening and driveway,and put forward a combined mode of dividing the opening on the common side of access road under certain conditions,in order to verify its feasibility.From the point of conflict analysis and simulation delay analysis,the proposed combination model was evaluated.In the end,we sum up the results of the previous research and proposed an urban arterials access management plan that is applicable to our country's roads conditions...
