The double arch bridge is one of the unique and strong ethnic flavor bridge types of our country,it was built in the 1960 s and 1970 s in large numbers.Due to the inherent deficiency of this structure and the overload of traffic, there are different degrees of damage in the active double arch bridge. However,it is obviously uneconomical to dismantle and rebuild all double arch bridge. Therefore, for these old bridges that are still in service,it is urgent to solve problems by repairing and reinforcing them,so as to improve their bearing capacity and durability.Increase section method is one of the most common methods in the reinforcement of main arch ring, this method increases the stiffness and carrying capacity of the structure by increasing the force area of the main force section.Increase section method is divided into many kinds,In this paper,we discussed the arch rib outsourced concrete method and the add beam method.Firstly, this paper introduces the origin and development of the double arch bridge, and discussed the development situation and research situation of the reinforcement technology of double arch bridge; Then,we summarizes the typical disease and causes of the double arch bridge and the commonly used reinforcement methods, emphasized the increased section method, studied and discussed calculation theory and calculation method; Finally, established the finite element model of the bridge base on the engineering examples and calculate the load effect before and after bridge reinforcement.Analysis and comparison the calculation results before and after reinforcement,Analysis the reinforcement effect of these two reinforcement methods.
