In a new era of rapid change in technology,people are rushing to the big city.In order to improve the utilization rate of construction land,urban high-rise and super high-rise buildings(including TV towers,sightseeing towers,skyscrapers,etc.)spread all over the place,and the new building height is refreshed after a few years.As high strength lightweight materials are used in high-rise buildings,the overall stiffness and damping of building structures are constantly declining,and the foundation frequency of building structures is constantly decreasing.Vibrations caused by resonances are easily induced by strong winds,which can lead to lower comfort in buildings and,more seriously,structural safety in high-rise buildings.There are a lot of large span bridges,pedestrian bridge and cantilever structure(such as a large hall)have resonance in vehicle or pedestrian excitation,the vibration will affect the comfort of personnel,personnel and even induce panic.In view of the above situation,measures must be taken to reduce the vibration of the structure.The traditional measures to compensate the vibration are to strengthen the rigidity of the structure,not only difficult to realize,but also increase the construction cost,and may hinder the beauty of the building structure.In the pursuit of beauty and value of the times,the traditional vibration reduction methods have been gradually eliminated.Numerous engineering practices have proved that tuned mass dampers achieve good damping effects in solving these vibrations.The vortex tuned mass damper has many advantages,such as no mechanical friction,no lubrication,no maintenance,and so on.It is a kind of damper with wide application foreground.In this paper,a new structure model is put forward innovatively,and a new type of eddy current damper is designed and manufactured.The theoretical research,model simulation and experimental verification of a new type of eddy current damper are carried out.The main work of this paper is as follows: the research and development of tuned mass dampers are traced,and the working principle of tuned mass dampers is analyzed.The calculating formula of eddy current damping force,further research on some important factors which influence the eddy current damping force: the effects of copper magnetic gap variation on the magnetic field strength and damping force;influence of conductor plate thickness on the magnetic field strength and damping force;influence of plate thickness on the magnetic field strength and damping force.The new design of eddy current damper is introduced.Its components,structure and function are introduced.Static analysis of key components is carried out.An experimental validation is conducted to examine the effect of copper gap variations on damping ratio.A simple model is established to analyze the first order vibration frequency,to adjust the natural frequency of the new damper and model,and to validate the damping effect of the new damper by the free attenuation method.The damping effect of the new damping is simulated and analyzed by the finite element software.
