Driving behavior is an important factor for driving safety, and the cognitive abilities which is represented by response inhibition of drivers play a nonnegligible role in driving behavior. Thus the current study designed a driving-response inhibition task based on psychological Go/Nogo task to explore the driving behavior and response inhibition of drivers from the neural mechanisms level. The correlation and otherness between the two tasks was analyzed to testify the effectiveness of driving-response inhibition task. The relationship between the ERPs evoked by driving Go/Nogo task and the driving behavior in simulation driving tasks was discussed. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The reaction time in driving Go/Nogo task is longer than that in psychological Go/Nogo task and false alarm is more than that in psychological Go/Nogo task. The reaction time and false alarm have a significant positive correlation with those in driving Go/Nogo task. From the results of ERPs,two kinds of tasks show the similar waveform that they induced the similar component in the same time window. The effectiveness of driving Go/Nogo task was proved from behavior and neural levels.(2)The ERPs in Go condition and Nogo condition evoked by driving Go/Nogo task were analyzed. The study found that Go condition didn't induce significant N2 but significant P3.However,Nogo condition induced both N2 and P3 which reflected the response inhibition processing. The finding could provide theoretical support for vehicular BCI research and development.(3)The correlation analysis between the ERPs evoked by driving Go/Nogo task and subjective scale of driving behavior and the typical indices for simulation driving tasks were carried out.The study showed that the more obvious Go-P3,Nogo-N2 and Nogo-P3,the safer the driving behavior of drivers is;the shorter the latency period of Go-P3 and Nogo-N2,the quicker coping strategies occur in the face of emergencies, which provides new insight for studying driving behavior.
