How to solve the energy crisis had been the hot issues in the world.Utilization of wind energy and solar energy together was paid much attention to by all the countries in the several kinds of renewable energy that we can use.Wind energy and solar energy have become the highest utilization level,the most widely-used and the most commercial renewable energy.But the traditional separate wind or solar power generation systems are unstable.So the wind and solar complementary power generation system was put forward early in 1981.This means wind energy and solar energy was complementary in the generation system.First,this paper discusses the complementary characteristics of wind energy and solar energy.We analyse the structure of the wind and solar complementary power generation system in details,including wind power generators,solar PV arrays,the controller specially used in wind and solar complementary power generation system,grid-connected inverter and loads.This paper gives the operation principle and characteristics.On the basis of realization the operation principle of the system,this paper designs and develops a monitoring system using for the wind and solar complementary power generation system.The monitoring system use Visual Basic.NET as development environment.It can collect the parameters we want in wind and solar complementary power generation system and display them on the monitoring interface in upper computer.And it also can store the historical data in the database used for drawing curves that all kinds of parameters change with time.Thus,it can monitor the operation status of the wind and solar complementary power generation system all the time and deal with the fault occurred.To improve the efficiency of wind and solar power generation,we adopt the maximum power point tracking to ensure the system operate near the maximum power point.In this way more wind and solar energy can be transformed into power energy.In this paper,we introduce the methods of the maximum power point tracking in wind and solar energy power generation and research the theory of the maximum power point tracking controlling methods.This paper simulates one of the maximum power point tracking controlling methods and analyses the simulation results.It tests and verifies the function and control effect of this maximum power point tracking controlling method.
