The paper calculated and simulated the settlement of a highway soft foundation by the field investigation,indoor calculation,and SEEP/W and SIGMA/W finite element software,and discussed the relation between the deformation and stress of the subgrade and the elevation of the water level.The research results are as follows:(1)Through field investigations,the engineering geological conditions such as topography,geologic structure,hydrogeology,etc.were ascertained,and the engineering geological conditions of the area were evaluated.(2)The depth of the soil subjected to settlement deformation and the final settlement are obtained by the layered summation method and the standard method.To determine the final settlement of soft soil foundation,the design calculation value of reference method shall be 43.18 mm,and the soft foundation shall be treated.(3)Through site analysis,the two methods of gravel pile method and riprap stone squeeze method were respectively adopted to treat the soft ground.For the method of gravel pile,the layout is triangle,the distance between piles is 1.6 m,the pile diameter is 1.0 m,the length of the pile is 9 m(through the soft soil layer),and the artificial material of gravel-stirring concrete is selected according to the site conditions;Through the method of squeezing stone by riprap,through calculation,the total thickness of the thrown-in body is H = 10.6m.(4)The numerical simulation software SEEP/W and SIGMA/W are used to analyze the factors of soft soil embankment deformation under groundwater level fluctuation conditions.The deformation characteristics of soft ground under wa ter level rise and fall,as well as the amplitude and depth of the water level,the slope slope height,slope gradient,and the influence law of water level fluctuation on soft ground were obtained.(5)Analyze the influence of water level change on soft ground through field monitoring,indoor calculation and numerical simulation,and propose a rectification plan through comparative analysis.
