The common freight train bogies in our country are the three-piece bogies whose speed is 120km/h.The research on 160km/h express freight train bogies started late.Various companies have developed several 160km/h express freight train bogies since 2000.According to the situation of our country,the special transportation trains such as express package train is one of the development direction of railway freight in our country which adapt to the rapid development logistics market.The bogie which designed in this paper is a 160km/h express freight train bogie,it use the three-piece structure which common in our country.In addition,it also use the technology of wheelset cross sustaining device and inner axle-box suspension.In this paper,the following researches have been done:(1)The basic structural characteristics of various kinds of freight train bogies in our country and abroad have been summarized and analyzed.On this basis,to compare and analyze the main structures such as wheelset,suspension,side frame and bolster of the bogie,then,a design scheme of 160km/h inner axle-box three-piece freight train radial bogie has been come out.(2)The basic hypotheses of dynamic calculation has been presented,the nonlinear factors in the vehicle system have been considered and analyzed,and the corresponding processing methods have been given.Then,the dynamic simulation model of boxcar with the bogies has been established by using SIMPACK,a dynamic simulation software.The forces of main components of the vehicle have been analyzed,and differential equations of motion have been established.(3)The effect of the vehicles under different operating conditions which caused by different parameters of primary suspension,secondary suspension,wheelset cross sustaining device,wheelbase and axle-box bearing center-to-center spacing has been studied by using single variable method,and then,a set of better parameter combinations have been given.(4)The principle of vehicle dynamic performance calculation has been introduced,the dynamic calculation of the vehicle system after parameters optimization has been carried out,the calculation included stability and comfort of the straight line running and the curve passing performance of the vehicle under different operating conditions,and the results showed that all the dynamic indexes of the vehicle met the requirements of GB 5599-85 Railway vehicle – Specification for evaluation the dynamic performance and accreditation test.
