Bolted flange connect ion is a n important sealing struct ure w it h dist inct ive features such as detachab ility,easy replaceme nt,and economica l conve nience.It is wide ly used in ma ny industr ia l fie lds,the reliab ility a nd tight ness of the bolted fla nge connectio n structure are of great significance in ins ur ing productio n safety and protecting enterpr ise interests.The gasket,the ma in sealing e leme nt in t he bolted flange connect ion str ucture,is t he most crit ica l link in t he research o f the flange joint tightness.Besides,the compressio n-resilie nce of t he gasket,as an outstand ing factor to ensure t he sealing perfor mance of t he fla nge syste m,should be focused in the research.As a typica l meta llic and non-meta llic composite gasket,the metallic spira l wound gasket has good comprehens ive performa nce and wide applicat ion a mong many t ypes of gaskets,thus having certa in representat ive ness a nd research va lue.Based on the points above,it is necessary and feasib le to conduct t horough research on the compression-resilie nce performa nce of the meta llic spira l wound gasket based on a bolted flange connection system.This topic stud ies the compressio n-resilie nce performa nce of the metallic sp iral wound gasket ma inly t hrough t he theoretica l ana lysis,exper imenta l research and numer ica l simulat ion,and chooses the flexib le graphite metallic spira l wound gasket as the key research object to do research about its compression-resilience.First of a ll,the calc ulat ion of t he gas ket,the performa nce parameters of t he gasket and test method for perfor mance parameters are compared from d ifferent flange connectio n design specificat ions through the theoret ical ana lys is,and the similar it ies and differences,advantages and disadva ntages are obtained between them.This would provide the theoret ical basis for the design method of flange connection.Secondly,the compression-resilience perfor mance tests for the fle xible graphite meta llic spira l wo und gasket are designed to measure the co mpression-resilience data of different gaskets and obtain the ir compressio n-resilie nce cur ves.The compress ion-res ilience perfor mance of different fle xible graphite metallic spira l wound gasket w ith d iffere nt materia ls,different nomina l pressures,and different structures are compared and ana lyzed.Step-by-step loading and unloading test is designed,and it is concluded that the stepw ise pre-loading of bolts exerts influe nce on the compressio n-resilie nce performa nce of fle xible graphite meta llic spira l wo und gasket.Repeated load ing and unloading test is designed to give some advice on the repeated use of gaskets.Fina lly,Finite ele ment ana lysis software is used to perform numer ica l simulat ion on the co mpression-resilience perfor mance of different fle xib le graphite meta llic spiral wound gasket.The stress distr ib ut ions and co mpression-resilience curve are obtained,and compared w it h the results of the mecha nical test,the s imulat io n results are bas ically cons istent w it h the compressio n-resilie nce perfor ma nce of t he gaskets reflected in the test results,and the curve trends obtained of the two methods are similar.
