TBM is a kind of large construction tunnel boring machine.Because of the advantages,such as low environmental impact,high degree of automation and quick construction speed,the Tunnel Boring Machine has been widely used in tunnel and subway construction.The cutter head's rotation is driven by motors and pushed supplied by thrust system,which make cutter head get close to the rock wall,then break the rock and shape the tunnel face one-time through disc cutters.Compared with traditional drilling and blasting method,TBM has the advantages of high degree of automation,high speed,and good forming excavation,less disturbance to the ground,quality,safety,environmental protection and labor saving and so on.But due to the TBM to be introduced to China relatively lately,TBM's localization is very low and the key technology is dependence on imports.Some technical personnel also can't understand the correct cutting mechanism which resulting in the slow construction progress,cost increase,even lead to project failure seriously.In this paper in-depth study and analysis of the domestic and foreign research on the TBM,found that the cutter is a key component of the tunnel boring machine,cutter wear failure largely restricts the efficiency and safety of TBM,and the cutter wear from the first tool,this paper is devoted to the study of a kind of tool life prediction the method has the cutter layout optimization on cutter-head.First of all,the TBM hob is classified and the failure modes of different types of hob are investigated,hob wear due to focus on failure due to discovery of tool materials,shape,system parameters and rock physical properties are the main factors influencing the failure of hob wear.The theory and formula for predicting the service life are discussed.On the basis of the existing hob wear prediction theory,a new method for predicting the wear of hob in rock breaking is proposed.According to the theoretical analysis of the wear TBM hob cutter layout and main cutting parameters and factors need to consider design of cutter determination method,compared with the commonly used cutter layout design method and constraint conditions,and through the comprehensive optimization method a set of solutions,the references to the detailed design stage of the cutter and the feasibility study stage can be applied to the cutter.Combined with the actual engineering data,the result is ideal,and has reference value.According to the comprehensive optimization design method,the finite element modeling of the cutter-head structure is carried out,and the finite element model is established for four typical working conditions in the construction of the road-header,and the cutter-head strength meets the design requirements of the static strength of the structure.The design method and comprehensive optimization design method are established on the basis of rock breaking force.The accuracy and reliability of the simulation results are analyzed by the measured deformation and wear volume.
