The automobile driving simulator is widely used in driving training,automobile development,entertainment and other fields.It is a hot spot in the research of virtual reality.However,technology and cost factors impede its popularity.In order to effectively improve poor human-computer interaction and the lack of immersion in virtual driving system,a Virtual Driving Dynamic System was designed and implemented which was based on the self-designed 3-DOF(three degrees of freedom)driving motion platform of serial mechanism and controlled by the game steering wheel.Based on the platform,using Visual Studio 2013 as a development tool,the C++ as a basic framework language,using OpenGL to generate 3D terrain,manage texture mapping and 3D car models,the multi-terrain virtual scene with strong realism was constructed with OpenGL,and achieved the design of the highway and the interactive design between the user and the virtual scene.The interactive control of the game steering wheel equipment and the 3D car model,the vehicle dynamics simulation and the car sound simulation system are realized by DirectX.Through the real-time detection of the car’s roaming posture,it completes the calculation and conversion of the car’s posture data,enabling the serial 3-DOF sports driving platform and the car’s posture to be linked in real time and output the driving kinesthesia.After the completion of the prototype,a variety of virtual driving tests on virtual environment of a single-DOF test terrain and multi-DOF test terrain,it is proved that the prototype has a better motion simulation performance.As a cost-effective solution,it provides more realistic driving experience,excellent human-computer interaction and intense immersion.The design and research in this thesis has practical significance for the popularization of vehicle driving simulator,and also provides a reliable reference for developing more freedom driving simulator.
