Larix principis-rupprechtii plantation, Betula platyphylla forest and Larix principis-rupprechtii forest are the main forest types of Mulan Weichang in Hebei province, which play an important role in maintaining the stabilization of ecology and developing the service function of ecology. These three main forests were selected as objects to explore the changes of biomass and carbon storage, to calculate the carbon sequestration value of different levels in vegetable layer, litter layer and soil layer of three main forests, and to elucidate the total biomass and the total carbon and total economic value of carbon sequestration in three main forests ecosystems. It is important to know the ability of carbon sequestration of forest, and useful for forest ecosystem's scientific management and rational control in this region. It is a theoretical support for evaluation of Forest Carbon-sink. The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)The biomass of single plant in sample plots of three main forests showed L.principis-rupprechtii plantation(163.31 kg)>B. platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii tesecondary forest(144.05 kg)>B. platyphylla secondary forest(108.35 kg).The biomass allocation in various organs of single plant showed trunk>root>branch>leaf. The proportion of biomass in truck could reach to 60%.The biomass in truck of L. principis-rupprechtii plantation was the maximum, 102.58 kg. It was the minimum in B. platyphylla secondary forest, 69.31 kg. The proportion of leaf biomass in biomass of single was the minimum, 2%-3%.(2)The results of vegetable layer biomass in sample plots of three main forests showed B.platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii secondary forest(166.91 t/hm2)>L. principis-rupprechtii plantation(154.97 t/hm2)>B. platyphylla secondary forest(110.30 t/hm2).The maximum biomass of arborous layer was 164.07 t/hm2 of B. platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii secondary forest. The minimum one was 104.13 t/hm2 of B. platyphylla secondary forest. The maximum biomass of shrub-grass layer was 6.17 t/hm2 of B. platyphylla secondary forest. The minimum one was 2.84 t/hm2 of B. platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii secondary forest.The results of litter layer total biomass in sample plots of three main forests showed L.principis-rupprechtii plantation(50.99 t/hm2)>B. platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii secondary forest(18.50 t/hm2)>B. platyphylla secondary forest(14.63 t/hm2).The maximum biomass of un-decomposed layer and semi-decomposed layer were 26.39 t/hm2 and 24.60 t/hm2 of L.principis-rupprechtii plantation.(3)The results of organic carbon storage of vegetable layer in sample plots of three main forestsshowed L. principis-rupprechtii plantation(81.10 t)>B. platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii secondary forest(66.22 t)>B. platyphylla secondary forest(66.22 t).The maximum organic carbon storage of arborous layer and shrub layer were 79.75 t and 0.57 t of L. principis-rupprechtii plantation.The maximum organic carbon storage of herb layer was 3.11 t of B. platyphylla secondary forest. The results of average carbon content of vegetable layer showed that the maximum was 55.30% of B.platyphylla secondary forest and the minimum was 36.54% of B. platyphylla and L.principis-rupprechtii secondary forest.The results of carbon storage of litter in sample plots of three main forests showed that the maximum was 15.60 t of L. principis-rupprechtii plantation and the minimum was 6.77 t of B.platyphylla secondary forest. The average carbon content in litter layer showed that the maximum was48.37% of B. platyphylla secondary forest and the minimum was 25.29% of B. platyphylla and L.principis-rupprechtii secondary forest. The carbon content in different decomposition level of litter layer showed all the un-decomposed layers were higher than all semi-decompoed layers.(4)The results of the average organic carbon content in the soil layer of 0-60 cm in sample plots of three main forests showed B. platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii secondary forest(31.18 g/kg)>B.platyphylla secondary forest(29.29 g/kg)>L. principis-rupprechtii plantation(24.14 g/kg).The soil organic carbon storage showed the maximum was 12.18 t of B. platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii secondary forest and the minimum was 10.9 t of L. principis-rupprechtii plantation. The total soil organic carbon density showed B. platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii secondary forest(20.30kg/m2)>B. platyphylla secondary forest(20.08 kg/m2)>L. principis-rupprechtii plantation(18.16kg/m2).The results of organic carbon content and carbon storage and carbon density in the soil layer of0-60 cm in sample plots of three main forests all showed the decreasing trend with the increasing of soil depth, and all index of organic carbon had an inflexion in 40 cm.(5)The results of the average value of carbon sequestration in sample plots of three main forests showed L. principis-rupprechtii plantation(129,300 yuan/hm2)>B. platyphylla and L.principis-rupprechtii secondary forest(5,500 yuan/hm2)>B. platyphylla secondary forest(102,900yuan/hm2).The total value of carbon sequestration in litter layer showed L. principis-rupprechtii plantation(53,700 yuan/hm2)> B. platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii secondary forest(28,000yuan/hm2)>B. platyphylla secondary forest(23,300 yuan/hm2).The value in different decomposing level of litter layer had the same changing trend with the total value of carbon sequestration. The results of the total value of soil carbon sequestration in the soil layer of 0-60 cm showed B. platyphylla and L.principis-rupprechtii secondary forest(19,000 yuan/hm2)>B. platyphylla secondary forest(18,800yuan/hm2)>L. principis-rupprechtii plantation(17,000 yuan/hm2).The average value of soil carbon sequestration showed the maximum was 3,200 yuan/hm2 of B. platyphylla and L. principis-rupprechtii secondary forest and the minimum was 2,800 yuan/hm2 of L. principis-rupprechtii plantation.(6)The results of the total value of carbon sequestration in the ecosystems of three main forests showed the maximum was 349,800 yuan/hm2 of L. principis-rupprechtii plantation and the minimum was 264,400 yuan/hm2 of B. platyphylla secondary forest.
