Banana is an important cash crop in the southeast coastal areas of China. Its stra w processing has become a major problem restricting the development of banana indu stry. Conservation tillage technology can solve many difficulties in handling banana straw, and avoid a series of ecological harm brought by direct burning. Banana straw returning can directlyreduce soil wind erosion and water erosion, increase soil organic matter, increase soil fertility, improve soil structure, raise soil waterretention and storage capacity.The current existing straw chopperdesign for crops of thin stalk, while the banana straw choppers are only capable for aerial parts of straw with low efficiency. Straw shattered need more machines combined withmultiple jobs. In this paper, a horizontal banana straw chopper with multi-function has been designed, by which the straw and stubble shattered at one time. Horizontal banana straw chopper adopts the metal structure, the work space for straw and stubble crushing relatively independent, machine performance is stable and reliable.The1JGHXJ-160A typehorizontal banana straw chopper machine is mainly composed of bevel gear transmission, straw crushing knife roller, V belt wheel, press roller, grubbing stubble knife roller and enclosure structure. Its supporting power is58.8KW, productivity is0.2-0.4hm2/h, working width is1600mm.This paper determined the horizontal banana straw chopper machine main parameters by calculationand the field test:straw crushing blade roller, the stubble crushing blade roller radius of gyration are respectively R1=50mm, R2=300mm, two knife roller spacing L=700mm, straw crushing knife roller speed n1=900r/min, root stubble crushing blade roller speed n=240r/min. Machine adopts a symmetrical bevel gear transmission, by which a big bevel gear meshing two small bevel gear. V belt transmission division on both sides of the box. The machine in the working process of the performance is stable, reliable transmission, high stability, returning can continue work.Straw crushing blade roller, grubbing stubble knife roller, press roller are the key partsto the machine. This article carried on the detailed analysis of its structure parameters. Cutter arrangement is different, because of the different function of straw crushing knife roller and grubbing stubble knife roller. Straw grinding tool configuration using spiral scattered arrangement, choose pairs installed back-to-back L knife. Grubbing stubble knife roller rotary tillage blade adopts symmetrical installation, the left-handed and right-handed grubbing knife in turn into pieces the grave alternately, so balanced grubbing stubble knife roller by torque. Tractor speed, straw crushing blade roller speed and grubbing knife roller speed are the main factors influencing the length of straw crushing rate, designed the3factors3levels orthogonal test. It is concluded that primary and secondary factors of straw crushing knife roller speed, grubbing knife roller speed and the speed of the tractor. Plots of banana straw root crop straw after crushing the surface coverage of30%, achieved agronomic requirements. Its average straw and root crop of crushing rate can reach more than90%, superior to the requirements of the national standard, after returning straw and root crop area has reached the requirement of conservation tillage.1JGHXJ-160A horizontal banana straw chopper machine adopted the reasonable joint operation technology, reference the design experience from existing straw chopper machine, and on the basis of the similar machine technology research, innovative design ideas, optimize the structure and transmission scheme and has a high efficiency, low consumption,simple popularization, meet the agronomicrequire-ments of conservation tillage.
