As the ancestor of Asian cultivated rice, common wild rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) contains the elite genes such as insect and disease resistance, sterile restoring and high yield genes, which is indispensable important germplasm resource for rice breeding. This research major in morphological characteristics of common wild rice in Hainan province, a survey of the synchronization of flowering between wild rice and cultivated rice have been comprehensively conducted. The database system based on B/S structure of Hainan wild rice has been set up on the basis of the survey data. The main research results obtained as follows:1. Morphological diversity of Hainan common wild riceCorrelation analysis on some agronomic traits showed that the number of traits significantly related to growth habit are at most, up to seven; the traits which play the decisive role of the yield including grain length, grain width and100-grain weight have significant correlation with growth habit; growth habit and the last second leaf ligule length which are determining factor in morphological traits were significantly correlated; And there are6traits significantly correlated to the flag leaf width and panicle,4traits significantly correlated to the first internode length and5traits significantly correlated to the flag leaf length, awn length, awn color, rice glume color, anther length and panicle length. The last second leaf ligule length, flag leaf length, flag leaf width, awn length and anther length are all extremely significantly related to panicle length; grain length has significantly correlated to the anther length, grain width has significantly correlated to the panicle length, grain length-width ratio is significantly related to the three traits including basal stem leaf sheath color, anther length and grain length, though, the100-grain weight is significantly related to the growth habits, seed coat color, awn color and grain length.The square Euclidean distance connection clustering analysis of agronomic traits showed that there are four groups of Hainan common wild rice with high similarity but a certain degree of difference with the characteristics of their respective, maybe with abundant genetic diversity.2. Research on the synchronization of flowering between wild rice and cultivated riceThe investigation data shows wild rice populations has mostly synchronization of flowering with cultivated rice, only a few no synchronization of flowering. Flowering synchronization period between common wild rice and cultivated rice has big difference around the in-situ sites. The synchronization of flowering between common wild rice and ratoon rice of observation sites located in the southeastern is longer, and that in northwest is relatively short, even no synchronization. Based on the comparison on the above data of wild rice in different areas and analysis of wild rice geographic information in observation sites, it is observed that on account of the difference of geographical position, leading the difference in synchronization of flowering and its duration between common wild rice and cultivated rice.3. Study and construction of Hainan wild rice germplasm database based on B/S structure systemWith Windows7operating system, installing the1.6version or above of JDK, choosing tomcat6.0as the Web Server, using SQL Server2000database system and applying Structs2.0as developing framework, we have built Hainan wild rice germplasm database based on B/S three-tier structure model. The system with data managing and querying function contains the morphological characteristics, origin, geographic information of wild rice and the local rice production conditions. Through this system we can get a comprehensive understanding of germplasm characteristics for the wild rice population, build the foundation of scientific management and sharing service platform for the common wild rice in Hainan province.
