Pet toy is one way that pet dog learn about society and the world, and it’s an important part of physical and mental health. As a special member in human family, pet has such an intimate relationship with human. Pet dog need toys as it can help them acquire skills, spend happy times with humans, dribble away the boring lonely time and consume the energy that are nowhere to release. Pet dog need suitable toys to stimulate and guide their physical, psychological and behavior developed and completed. As a starting point with the physical and mental development demand and activity ability of the pet dog to design and research the pet dog toys, and was given the role that accompany with people.Starting from the point of view of the function with pet dogs habits, this paper study the physiological and instinct of pet dog to develop the ability of demand and activity behavior, and by the innovative design practice of new functional pet dog toys, design a toy that really fit in pet dog and the market demand. First of all, analysis of the demand status of pet dog toys, research at home and abroad. Then, by describing the relationship between dogs and humans, based on the physiological characteristics, habits and behavior of pet dog, demonstrate the importance of dog toys design. Combing the ideas and methods of research, consult relevant information, make a good theoretical preparation for the next research and practice. Secondly, based on the definition of the importance of pet dog toys, proceeds from mental and physical development and activity ability of pet dog, combined with the current situation of the design, thinking about the feasibility and necessity of the application of the innovative design of it. Through it, analyse the different functions for the principles of dogs toys innovative design from all aspects. Make a prototype met the function, in combination with the actual use of the dog in the case of experiments, and eventually explore and summarize it. Finally, designing a product that satisfy the physical and psychological needs of pet dogs, and breeders also like.
