Investigation And Selection Of Main Economic Traits Of The 41 Seedling Tree Of ‘Okubo' Peach

Okubo peach,as the largest planted and cultivated peach variety in Hebei province,is very popular among the customers for its excellent quality.How to sustain Okubo peach's development in Hebei is a serious problem.In order to consolidate and improve Okubo peach dominance in Hebei province,it is necessary to select the new Okubo variety which is satisfied the market and customers requirement.Since 1995,peach-breeding group of Hebei Normal University Of Science & Technology has been using natural fertility seedling way to improve Okubo varieties,which intended to nurture the superior new varieties and catered producers,sellers and customers' demand.Mancheng county nursery field of Baoding city is one of the new varieties experiment base of this research group.There were over 100 varieties of peach were tested and compared in this base.This dissertation was based on the comprehensive research of main phonological phases and fruit characters of 41 excellent Okubo seedlings and 59 main productive varieties.Meanwhile,it was aimed at selecting more superior varieties from the 41 excellent seedlings,and finding out new varieties that could be applied in manufactory by comparing the main productive varieties with the same mature period.As indicated by the result of research and selection:1.There were 11 major superior clones selected from 41 excellent clones.To be more specifically,the number of early-maturing key clones,mid-maturing key clones and late-maturing key clones was 2,4 and 5,respectively.The economic traits of the priorities clones were better than the existing varieties that shared the same mature period.Moreover,it had good prospects for development.2.Three germplasm with special traits were elected from the 41 superior lines,including the type of very sweet,very acid type and miniature yellow fresh meat type.Some of these specific germplasm could be directly applied to the production,and some could be used as further breeding parents.3.Okubo 9-5 was one of the elected superior clones and its fruit in early August,average weight 300 g,round fruit,bilaterally symmetrical;the maturity of fruit all parts was unanimous,white and reddish pulp,hard solute,juicy,sweet flavor,more than 12.5% for soluble solids,depart from nuclear and good storage performance.As identified by scientific and technological achievements of Hebei Province Science and Technology Department,it was named as Jiuli.
