Biodiversity is the material basis of survival and development for human. It is the common wealth of mankind. It plays a very important role in maintaining global and regional ecological balance and sustainable development. However, with the continuous development of social economy and the excessive use of forest resources of mankind, the forest ecosystem has been heavily damaged. Biodiversity around the globe is losing at an unprecedented speed. The reduction of forest resources is one of the important reasons for biodiversity decreasing. Studying the effect of forest landscape on biodiversity can identify the main forest landscape factors affecting biodiversity. It is crucial for protecting biodiversity by scientific management of forest landscape.This paper, taking Poyang lake eco-economic zone as case study area, uses the collected database of species resource to evaluate its biodiversity by taking the county as a unit; and then uses GIS, correlation analysis and flexibility analysis to study the relationship between biodiversity and projection area, surface area, the increment of surface area in Poyang lake eco-economic zone. And it discusses the multi-scale correlation relationships among regional biodiversity and surface area. Finally, 10 indices from the aspects of forest landscape' quantity, quality and distribution are selected for evaluation. Correlation analysis, flexibility analysis, factor analysis and regression analysis are used to reveal the linkage between forest landscape indices and regional biodiversity.The results show that:(1) Biodiversity index of Poyang lake eco-economic zone is 21.11~64.39. The status of biodiversity is generally at a high level in Poyang lake eco-economic zone. Biodiversity of the county around the lake is good. Biodiversity of the urban districts is poor.Biodiversity generally shows a downward trend from the lake to the periphery.(2) Regional biodiversity has strong positive correlation with projection area, surface area, the increment of surface area. Its correlation with the increment of surface area is basically consistent with surface area. And the correlation with the increment of surface area, surface area is better than projection area. Regional biodiversity is most sensitive to the increment of surface area.(3) The correlation coefficient between regional biodiversity and surface area increases slowly before 350 m, and reaches a maximum in 350 m, then decreases rapidly after 350 m. The correlation between regional biodiversity and surface area has strong scale dependency.(4) The indices chosen to represent forest landscape are significant correlated with regional biodiversity(at significant level of 0.05) except the average tree height, and the forest density(the number per hectare) has the highest correlation with regionalbiodiversity. Regional biodiversity is most sensitive to average diameter at breast height,then is forest landscape distribution equilibrium degree. The forest volume has the lowest sensitivity to regional biodiversity.(5) Comprehensive score of factor analysis shows that the comprehensive status of forest resources is good in Fuliang, Guixi, Xingzi, Yongxiu, Duchang; the comprehensive status of forest resources is poor in Xunyang, Qingyunpu, Zhushan, Donghu, Xihu.(6) The sequence of indices affecting regional biodiversity is number per hectare,forest landscape distribution equilibrium degree, forest landscape fragmentation, forest volume, average diameter at breast height.
