The one of important feature of urban forest are to meet the public’s demands for scenic and recreation. Therefore, scientific, effective and accurate evaluation of forest landscape is the prerequisite to achieve the core objective of urban forest.This paper intends to study the influence and interrelation of different landscape elements on scenic beauty for landscape inside and outside the forest from two dimensions of in-forest landscape and visible close-range. By applying scenic beauty estimation method, factor analysis method and other evaluation methods, this paper evaluates current situation of forest landscape quality in Beijing urban landscape forest, including quality of in-forest landscape and quality of out-forest landscape, establishes a regional evaluation index system for urban landscape forest, and build quantitative measurement method of urban landscape forest quality. Through systematic analysis and model establishment, it provides theoretical basis and technical support for improving the quality control of urban forest landscape, as well as provides reference for improving the quality of urban forest landscape in other regions of China.(1) On stand structure of urban landscape forest, the urban landscape forest in Beijing shows the features of highly artificial, simple life-form and lack of large diameter and tall trees. Highly artificial selection leads to a monotonous landscape color and reduce the scenic beauty of landscape. Native trees still have long-term development space. On landscape structure of urban landscape forest, rank distribution of scenic beauty for in-forest landscape and out-forest landscape in Beijing urban landscape forest all show an approximate normal distribution.(2) In quality evaluation system of in-forest landscape for Beijing urban landscape forest, light in the forest and branch condition index contribute the most to the scenic beauty quality of in-forest landscape. In quality evaluation system of out-forest landscape, crown diameter index contribute the most to the scenic beauty quality of out-forest landscape.(3) Linear and nonlinear fitting model of in-forest landscape scenic beauty has been established by selecting 15 quality influential indexes of in-forest landscape, including density, recognizable tree trunk, light in the forest, visibility of dead branches, clutter degree of trunk arrangement, crown area ratio, bare land ratio, life-form, naturalness, in-forest colors, crown shade degree, visibility rate of in-forest sky, spatial mental capacity and shrub coverage, as well as 7 established characteristic indexes of in-forest landscape.(4) Linear and nonlinear fitting model of out-forest landscape scenic beauty has been established by selecting 13 quality influential indexes of out-forest landscape, including DBH, crown width, partial crown, scatter of DBH, height of tree, crown length, height of lowest leaf, bole height, seasonal abundance, landscape coordination, landscape naturalness, colors, herbaceous coverage, as well as 6 established characteristic indexes of out-forest landscape.(5) Major color patch indexes that affect the in-forest landscape of Beijing urban landscape forest are CONTAG, PAF, SPLIT, SHEI, SHDI and SIEI. They are also used to build the fitting model of in-forest landscape scenic beauty, so as to analyze the correlation between in-forest landscape indexes and color patch. Major color patch indexes that affect the out-forest landscape of Beijing urban landscape forest are CONTAG, PRD,SHEI, COHESION and SIEI. They are also used to build the fitting model of out-forest landscape scenic beauty, so as to analyze the correlation between out-forest landscape indexes and color patch.(6) Through the prediction model of in-forest landscape scenic beauty and in-forest indexes, in-forest landscape quality is divided into 3 major categories of landscape and 5 classes of subtype landscape. Through the prediction model of out-forest landscape scenic beauty and out-forest indexes, out-forest landscape selects 13 indexes as the grade classification index, and out-forest quality is divided into 3 major categories of landscape and 5 classes of subtype landscape.
