There is a high degree of association on the environment and rural life of well. which contains of strong cultural characteristics. Chinese word "well" means, leave the hometown, elegant, mine field. So the wells is the ideal bridge of ecology and culture. The author takes Cha Yuan Tou village wells, Shaoyang city, Hunan province, the village is located in the suburban area of the lot, township reform in 2015 was merged into the Xintan community, accompanied by the water pipe well-paved. It was during my investigation, the village went through drastic social change.This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, mainly discusses the research origin, research review, research methods and research significance of the theory. The second chapter describes natural and historical background of the field point, understand the importance of wells in Cha Yuan Tou village history. The third chapter analyzes the Cha Yuan Tou village's wells spatial distribution and local knowledge, sinking further analysis of the relationship of Ecological Changes and wells. The fourth chapter from the cultural identity of traditional wells in the collective consciousness of the performance of the start of the wells were functionalist understanding, and this understanding is analyzed well water demand, the impact of changes in settlement space of these functions caused by the rural collective consciousness impact.Based on the study of wells cultural change, to link modern and traditional livelihood. Along with the rural modernization, lay spread in water network to discuss water wells in rural areas and people's lives, as well as local populations in water-related ecological changes in the culture of, and of human activities on ecological environment effect and change of ecological environment caused by the social and cultural changes. Wells is a major source of rural domestic water not only reflects the rural ecology and culture, and also feedback on the ecology and culture. Study on changes of well water on the one hand can spy on the ecology, culture, and hopes to help by means of culture water resource protection, it is also a good way to show the social status of rural, and provide a reference to civilization construction of contemporary rural society.
