Grassland Ecological Awareness Education Research From The Perspective Of Cultural Diversity

This study, from the perspective of cultural diversity, focuses on the practical implications and value of the content related to ecological protection in grassland culture. And based on status quo survey and synthesizing relevant research on grassland culture, the study investigates the status quo of grassland ecological consciousness of undergraduates in Inner Mongolia through questionnaire and interview, with the hope of proposing the basic ideas of grassland ecological consciousness education and designing educational framework of ecological consciousness.This dissertation is composed of five chapters. The first chapter discusses the research background, literature review, research method and research objective, research framework, and research significance. The second chapter is the discussion of the theoretical basis, introducing and discussing relevant theories of the ecological culturology and cultural diversity. In the third chapter, the questionnaire design based on research of the above-mentioned literature and the carrying out of the questionnaire and interview about grassland ecological consciousness of undergraduates is reported. The conclusion made is that the attitude of undergraduates towards ecology significantly affects the learning of related knowledge and the behavior of ecological protection; and that the level of grassland ecological consciousness of undergraduates is low, thus the carrying out of grassland ecological consciousness education is necessary. The fourth chapter is about the data collection on the situation of the undergraduates' general understanding of grassland ecology protection and the situation of the understanding of the relationship between national culture and grassland ecology protection. The outcome of analysis and discussion with the qualitative methodology based on the data collected is reported at the same tine. The undergraduates have strong awareness of unexpected development of grassland ecology, and they have perplexity on the conflict between the development of economy and the protection of ecology, but sense of responsibility of ecology need to be improved. Their understanding of grassland ecological culture is not balanced, but most of them emphasize the important positive effects of grassland culture on ecology protection. There are many problems existing in the ecological consciousness of undergraduates, and their ecological consciousness needs to be improved through effective ecological consciousness education. In the fifth chapter, systemic countermeasures and suggestions to the education innovation of the grassland ecological consciousness are proposed from the perspective of national culture. The essence of ecological consciousness education is a kind of education of sustainable development. The objective of ecological consciousness education should be in fostering new citizens with ecological consciousness. And the objective should highlight local knowledge and cultural adaptability, and rethink the current popular concept from the perspective of critical consciousness to achieve ecological cultural consciousness and realize the conscientization of grassland ecology protection.This study has its unique viewpoint both on the importance of ecological consciousness education and on the analysis of influence of cultural diversity on ecology. The grassland ecological consciousness scale compiled is novel, and has certain innovation in the theoretical description of the structure of grassland ecological consciousness; the design scheme of education system of grassland ecological consciousness is more systematic than the existed, and the relevant strategies proposed has high practical reference value to the extensive carrying out of grassland ecological consciousness education.
