The Research On Ornamental Jellyfish And The Moon Jellyfish Tolerance Of Ammonia Nitrogen In The Water

Jellyfish is emerging in recent years. The ornamental jellyfish has five characteristics.The studies are about the ornamental jellyfish and the moon jellyfish tolerance of ammonia nitrogen in the water.This investigation has been carried on 14 aquariums, 2 companies and 4 Aquarium Markets(Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin). There are 16 species ornamental jellyfish found. This research includes the species of jellyfish, economic value, ornamental period, the way of getting, feed, tank, water, light, and so on. A lot of problems about ornamental jellyfish market were found in the survey. Chaotic name; Poor food; High price; sealed technology, less research; few promotion. This study will help to understand jellyfish.A study was designed to investigate the toxicity of ammonia on larva and adult moon jellyfish, Aurelia aurita. The experiment was carried out at water temperature 24℃,salinity 30‰ and pH 7.8~8.1. The ammonia concentration adjusted with NH4 Cl. The larva and adult moon jellyfish were submitted to 5~9mg/L, giving five different ammonia-N concentrations. The result showed that the 24 h LC50,48 h LC50,72hLC50,96hLC50 of the larva moon jellyfish was 8.27mg/L,7.46mg/L,6.51mg/L,2.76mg/L, respectively,the safety concentrations was 0.276 mg/L, the 24hLC50,48 h LC50,72hLC50,96hLC50 of the adult moon jellyfish was 8.49mg/L,8.27mg/L,7.65mg/L,6.63mg/L, respectively,the safety concentrations was 0.663 mg/L.
