This paper take the exploitation of mineral resources in Qinling Mountains as the breakthrough point, Select more local reserves and has formed a certain mining scale of 10 kinds of mineral resources as an object of study, Quantitative assessment of economic losses caused by soil erosion resulting from exploitation of mineral resources, To provide a theoretical basis for the development of the compensation standard of soil and water conservation for mineral resources exploitation in Shaanxi Province, improving the compensation mechanism of soil and water conservation, reversing the serious soil erosion crisis in process of mineral resources exploitation.This paper based on the investigation of 10 kinds of mineral resources(molybdenum, iron, zinc, gold, copper, silver, pyrite, phosphate rock, rock salt, limestone) and 97 mines in Qinling Mountains to analyze the characteristics of soil erosionand in the process of mineral exploitation,The key part of the soil and water loss in the mining area is to define the mining field, the dump, the road, the industrial field, the power supply and the water supply pipeline; Based on the analysis of the economic loss assessment method of soil and water loss at home and abroad, Through the comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of different methods, the theory is relatively mature and researchers commonly used method of environmental impact economic method(method 1) and panel data model method(method 2) two kinds of methods of the exploitation of mineral resources caused by soil erosion economic losses into quantitative estimates.Results show that: Method 2 and method 1 calculation results have a certain difference, method 1 calculated the results of the overall greater than the method 2, the difference range is relatively dispersed; The exploitation of mineral resources in different ways have a certain impact on the economic loss caused by soil and water loss, Strip mining is 9% ~ 35% higher than underground mining; The economic loss caused by soil erosionvaries greatly in different mineral resource types, precious metals>ferrous metals, ferrous metals>non metals.
