The purpose of this study was provide correct and reasonable prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in poultry industry on the basis of Shaowuarea by the epidemiological investigation of Shaowu chicken coccidia. The investigation on epidemiological of Chicken coccidiosis from 19 farms in Shaowu area was carried out to obtain a general understanding of the epidemiology of chicken coccidiosis in Shaowu city, including chicken varieties, breeding methods, infection age and other factors.In Shaowu area, the poultry industry mainly concentrates in Shuibei town, Heping town, Yanshan town, Hongdun town and Xiaojiafang town. By the survey it was found that 19 farms from the 5 Townships were infected by chicken coccidiosis,and the infection was relatively serious. The average infection rate reached 45.8%, and the average infection rate of Shuibei town was 54.2%, the average infection rate of Heping town was 36.7%, the average infection rate of Yanshan town was 46.7%, the average infection rate of Hongdun town was 46%, the average infection rate of Xiaojiafang town was 38.9%,respectively. Through the data statistics, the highest infection rate was found among 16 to 60 days old chickens. Coccidial infection rate was also affected by the mode of cultivation and raising management level. The infection rate in the cage was significantly lower than in the backyard, Good feeding and management level also greatly reduced the positive rate of chicken coccidiosis, even if the chickens infected with coccidiosis, was not easy to outbreak. Based on the 19 farms collected chicken manure microscopy of chicken coccidian oocysts in morphology, size, color and other aspects of discrimination, there were six species of coccidia in Shaowu area. They were E. tenella,E. maxima, E. miffs, E. neeatrix, E. praecox and E. acervulina.The highest detection rate of E. tenella was 77.2%.The morphology of coccidial oocysts was observated under the microscope (10 x 40) and the number of them was calculated. The results showed that the Shaowu area coccidial infection was mild infection and moderate infection, from the age point of view, with the highest rate of 31 to 60 days of infection, the infection rate was 51.1%.The drug resistance test of coccidia was carried out, and the results showed that Shaowu chicken coccidian was the most sensitive to monensin, Amprolium hydrochloride and Toltrazuril, moderately sensitive to diclazuril, salinomycin, Sulfaquinoxaline and nitromide, completely insensitive to Maduramycin.
